Who are the Maddogs?
We proudly represent the Northeastern University Women's Rugby Club, a highly regarded Division I Club Sport team based in the Northeast. Since its inception in 1995, our club has continuously grown and evolved. In 2006, we made a significant leap by joining the Division I conference, solidifying our position as a competitive force in the sport. Our dedication and hard work have yielded impressive results. We consistently rank among the Top 5 teams in the 15s Nationals, showcasing our commitment to excellence in 2018, 2021, and 2022. Moreover, we have achieved remarkable undefeated seasons in 15s in 2019, 2021, 2022 and 2023, demonstrating our strength and determination on the field. In early 2017, we introduced an exciting 7s program alongside our focus on 15s. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our managers, coaches, and players, we have made substantial progress in the 7s format. Our 7s program has already achieved notable success, securing a Top 5 ranking in 2019 and culminating in a momentous triumph as the CRAA D1 7s National Champions in 2023. The growth and development of our 7s program continue to impress, establishing a strong foundation for future accomplishments. We eagerly anticipate the upcoming practices, thrilling matches, and competitive tournaments that lie ahead, as we continue to shape the future of Northeastern Women's Rugby. |
